What is the difference between standard and high-dose flu shots?
The High-Dose Flu vaccine (Fluzone High-Dose) contains four times the amount of antigen found in a standard flu shot. Because immune systems naturally weaken with age, the high-dose shot creates a significantly stronger antibody response and is specifically recommended for adults aged 65 and older.
Can I receive more than one vaccine during the same visit?
Yes. According to CDC guidelines, it is safe to receive multiple vaccinations at the same appointment—such as getting your annual flu shot and an updated COVID-19 booster or Shingles vaccine together, usually in different arms.
What are the common side effects after receiving a vaccination?
Most side effects are very mild and subside within 24 to 48 hours. The most frequent reactions include mild soreness, redness, or slight swelling at the injection site, as well as occasional low-grade fever, fatigue, or muscle aches. These are normal signs that your body is building protection.
Will my primary care doctor know that I received my vaccine?
